Vertebrate have backbone or spinal column .

Example :- Fish , mammals , birds , reptiles etc .

Invertebrate :-

Invertebrate don't have back bone , no cell walls .

Example :- insects , jellyfish , flies , flatworms etc .

The difference between invertebrate and vertebrate are the following points:-

  • vertebrata have internal skeleton but invertebrata have no internal skeleton.
  • vertebrata have backbone but invertebrate have no backbone
  • vertebrate have two pair of limb but invertebrate have three or more pair of limb.
  • A tail is usually present in vertebrata but tail is absent in invertebrates.
  • body is covered by hair in vertebrate but hair is not present in invertebrate.
  • nerve cord is is present in is dorsally located in vertebrata but at nerve cord is ventrally located in invertebrates.
