Viruses - They are non cellular parasites which self replicates when inside a host.

They only contain a protein coat.

They can have single stranded dna, rna or double stranded dna.

They mostly infect animals.

Viroids - They are also non cellular parasites. But they do not contain a protein coating and self replicate inside the host.

They can only have single stranded rna which is much smaller than that of the virus.

They mostly infect plants.
