Difference between viruses and bacteria:
Viruses:
- Very small in size and visible only by electron microscope.
- Have no metabolism.
- Take no food by any method.
- Do not grow and do not divide.
- Can be crystallized.
- Command the host cell to produce virus.
- All produce diseases in man, animals or plants.
Bacteria:
- Large and can be seen by light microscope.
- Single celled.
- Have metabolism.
- Take food by absorption.
- Grow in size and divide to produce more bacteria.
- Cannot be crystallized.
- Self reproduce.
- Some harmless, some useful and some disease-causing.
