Bathing soap are SOAPS &  washing soaps are DETERGENTS.
Difference between soaps & detergents are:
SOAPS:
1.Soaps are sodium or Potassium salts of long chain fatty acids. The anionic group in soap is --COO.
2. They are obtained from vegetable oils and animal fats.
3. They are 100% biodegradable.
4. They do not form lather readily in hard water.
5. They exhibit weak cleansing action.6. In acidic water Soaps cannot be used.

DETERGENTS:
1.Detergents are sulphonate, sulphate or ammonium salts of long chain hydrocarbons hydrocarbons. The anionic group in detergent is --OSO3 or --SO3.
2. They are obtained from coal tar and petroleum.
3. They are non biodegradable.
4. They  form lather readily in hard water.
5. They exhibit strong cleansing action.
6. In acidic water detergents can be used.

Hey !!

Bathing soap are potassium salts of long chain fatty acids. They are usually soft and are also free from unused alkali. Washing soaps, on the other hand, are sodium salts of long chain fatty acids. They are usually hard and also contain some residual alkali.
