Difference between water absoption capacity and water abdorption index

The water absorption index (WAS) measures the volume occupied by a substance after swelling in excess of water. water holding capacity is how much water (by volume, mass, weight )a substance can hold and yes water absorption index and water holding capacity different parameters.
