Western ghats are on the west coast of india which receive heavy rainfall from the south west monsoon winds. They are almost continous. The rivers or the tributaries do not originate or end in western ghats
Eastern ghats are similarly on the east coast of india. They are discontinuous and in the rain shadow region of western ghats . Hence they don't receive rainfall from SW monsoons but from retreating and North east monsoon winds.
Morever rivers like krishna kaveri godavari etc. Flow through the eastern ghats into the bay of bengal...... I leave it upon you to mark it brainliest if it's helpful
