Western Ghats-

  • Highest Western Ghat is Anai Mudi.

Eastern Ghats-

  • Discontinuous and dissected by rivers.
  • Height ranges from 600m-900m.
  • Stretch from Mahanadi valley to Nilgiri hills.
  • It receives rain mostly in winter through north-eastern monsoon.
  • Highest Eastern Ghat is Mahendragiri.
