Western ghats have higher slope than eastern ghats. western ghats receive rainfall from south west monsoon winds while eastern ghats get rainfall from south east monsoon winds as well as retreating monsoon(Coromandel Coast). Eastern ghats have more rivers as compared to Western ghats.
