Distinguish between the Western Himalaya and Eastern Himalaya
Western Himalaya:
- The region of Himalaya which extends from river Indus to river Kali, it is called as Western Himalaya.
- It is comprised of peak such as Nanga Parbat, Nanda Devi and Badrinath.
- Its width is 400 km.
- It covers states such as Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh.
Eastern Himalaya:
- The region of Himalaya which extends from river kali to river Brahmaputra, it is called as Eastern Himalaya.
- It is comprised of peak such as Everest, Makalu, Annapurna and Dhaulagiri.
- Its width is 150 km.
- It covers states such as West Bengal, Sikkim, Bhutan and Arunachal Pradesh.
