Refuges can preserve animals that are endangered.

•Biosphere reserves are areas comprising terrestrial, marine and coastal ecosystems. Each reserve promotes solutions reconciling the conservation of biodiversity with its sustainable use.

•A national park is a park in use for conservation purposes. Often it is a reserve of natural, semi-natural, or developed land that a sovereign state declares or owns.

The difference between National Parks & Wildlife Sanctuaries is that no human activity is allowed inside National Parks while limited activities are permitted within Wildlife sanctuaries. In biosphere reserves limited economic activity ( sand mining and stone mining ) is permitted.

The Indian government has established 18 biosphere reserves in India,[1] (categories roughly corresponding to IUCN Category V Protected areas), which protect larger areas of natural habitat (than a National Park or Animal Sanctuary), and often include one or more National Parks or preserves, along with buffer zones that are open to some economic uses. Protection is granted not only to the flora and fauna of the protected region, but also to the human communities who inhabit these regions, and their ways of life. Animals are protected and saved here.
