Work- Work is defined as the process of energy transfer to the motion of an object through the application of force. This is usually represented as the product of force and displacement.

Power- Power is defined as the amount of energy transferred in unit time.

Difference between Work and Power :

☯ Work done by a force is equal to the product of force and displacement in the direction of force.

☯ Work done does not depend on time.

☯ S.I. unit of work is joule (J).

✠ POWER ✠

☯ Power of a source is the rate of work done by the source.

☯ Power spent depends on the time in which work is done.

☯ S.I. unit of power is watt (W).
