difference between xylem and phloem

xylem carries water whereas phloem carries food.

XYLEM :-
1) It transports water and minerals in upward direction from roots to highest point of the plant.

2) Movement is unidirectional in Xylem.

3)It is present in Stems, roots and leaves.

4)These are present in the centre of the vascular bundle.

5) It is accompained by xylem vessels and tracheids.


PHLOEM:-

1) It transports food from leaves to other parts of the plant.

2)The movement is bidirectional.


3)It is also present in leaves, stems and roots but transports and grows in fruits, nd seeds..

4)These are present outside of vascular bundle.

5) It is accompained by seive tubes and companion cells..
