Phloem- It consists of four of elements: sieve tubes, companion cells, phloem fibres and the phloemparenchyma. Unlike the xylem, phloemconducts in both directions. It isresponsible for transporting food from the leaves to the other parts of the plant.

1. It conducts water to all parts from root .
2.The elements which help in conduction are tracheids and vessels . Both are non living and highly thick walled

4.Except xylemparenchyma all other are nonliving
