Answer: Difference between Parenchyma and Collenchyma-

1. Parenchyma-

a. This tissue consists of thin- walled living cells.

b. It is distributed in almost all the parts of the plant body.

 c. The living cells of parenchyma assimilate and store food. They also store waste products.

2. Collenchyma

 a. This tissue consists of cells having localised thickening in their cell walls.

 b. It occurs mostly in the aerial parts of the plants and is restricted to the other layers.

 c. Collenchyma is the chief mechanical tissue in parts of a young plant particularly in the young dicotyledonous stems.

 Difference between Collenchyma and Sclerenchyma-

 1. Collenchyma-

 a. It consists of living cells.

 b. Its cells contains cytoplasm.

 c. Its cell walls are cullulosic.

 d. The thickening of cell wall is not uniform.

 e. Lumen of the cell is wide.

 f. It provides mechanical support and elasticity to the plant body.

 2. Sclerenchyma-

 a. It consists of dead cells.

 b. Its cells are empty.

 c. Its cell walls are lignified.

 d. Cell wall thickening is uniform.

 e. Lumen of the cell is narrow.

 f. It is chiefly mechanical tissue
