Mortality- In a population, the rate of death of individuals.

Different types of mortality:

There are two types of mortality.

Ecological mortality: This refers to the actual loss of people due to environmental factors. It is not constant for a population but varies depending on the habitat and population, including predators, sickness, and other factors.

Minimum Mortality: This refers to the number of people who die under ideal or non-limiting circumstances. As a result, even if the environment is optimal for individuals, they will die due to their physiological longevity. For the population, it may be constant. Environmental longevity is usually larger than minimum mortality. The process of ageing, also known as senescence, causes organisms in nature to become old.
