Solute :- The Substances which dissolve in solvent.

Solvent :- The liquid in which a solute is dissolved to form a solution.

Solution :- It is a homogenous mixture (a mixure in which no more solute can be dissolve) of two or more components.

In the Above Picture.

Sugar is Solute,Water is Solvent and the Sweet water(which the mixture of sugar and water ) is Solution.

Heya!
Your answer!
The solvent is usually the larger quantity. The solute is usually a solid that is dissolved in the solvent.

A solute can be a liquid as well. In this case, the solvent would be the larger quantity. If the quantities are equal, take your pick.

Hope it helps^_^
