Difference bw fringes in newtons rings and michelson interferometer

The interference observed inMichelson interferometer andNewton's rings are similar. Both are interference fringes. However, there is a fundamental difference in the formation of fringes. ... In Newton's rings, there is no splitting of light rays and fringes are formed by interference of different rays.
