Difference in reaction of ethano, and ethanoic acid on reactikn with sodium hydrogen carbonate

Ethanol:

Reaction with sodium hydrogen carbonate : Ethoxide ion is stronger base than hydroxide. So that ethanol is weaker acid than water. Carbonate and bycarbonate salts are from weak acid. Thus weak acid and weak acid salt doesn’t react each other.

Ethanoic acid :

React with sodium hydrogen carbonate:

CH3COOH+NAHCO3--CH3COONA+H2O+CO2
