Construction-wise there is one primary and one secondary winding in a 1-ph transformer. There will be 3 -winding in the primary, usually connected in Star or Delta and 3 -winding in the secondary, also usually connected in Star or Delta, in a 3-ph system.
Utilization wise 1-ph transformer can supply only 1-ph load. Not widely used. You will find them in Laboratories where students use them for there basic experiments on transformer. #-ph transformers can supply both 1-ph and 3-ph loads, used in Transmission, Distribution etc . most of the transformers used in the power system are 3-ph.
