Here's your answer..

To know the differences between rational and irrational numbers....You have to know their definitions...

Rational numbers -

The number which can be expressed in the form of p/q and q is not equal to 0.

Irrational numbers -

The number which can be expressed as infinite decimal expansion..where the decimals won't repeat..

So...from this definitions...We can easily differentiate rational and irrational numbers.

Examples for irrational are -

√2 - 1.414........
√3 - 1.732.......
√5 - 2.236.....
