The difference between B. sc and B.tech:

B.tech and B. sc should not be compared as a B.tech is equivalent to M. sc . I will compare it just as under graduation courses( Please note that B.tech in India is under graduation course, many miss understand it as graduate course and i will explain the reason later).

As you may already know B. sc is 3 years(six semester) and B.tech is 4 years(8 semester). Comparatively B. sc is much more relaxed than B.tech, number of course work and lab work will be less and you will be introduced to the core subjects right from the first year whereas in B.tech 1st year will have common engineering course work(Refer any university syllabus) with very little or no core subjects. From 2nd year there will be 6 or 7 course works and 3 or 4 lab works to complete in each semester. This can change from one university to another but it wont be less than that.

Most B. sc courses may not include chemical engineering papers which have lots of math, equations, derivations and stuff. Chemical engineering is a major part in B.tech syllabus.
