The differences are given below:-

Organic chemistry - It is the study of organic compounds where carbon is a necessary element to be present.

As thought in the earlier time periods, substances like sugar, starch, protein and acetic acid could be obtained only from living sources like plants and animals and therefore the chemistry dealing with them was called organic chemistry.(but later a german scientist Friedrich wöhler prepared an organic compound Urea from an inorganic compound Ammonium cyanate)

Inorganic chemistry- It is the study of inorganic compounds where carbon is not an essential element.

Substances like blue vitrol ,nitrate etc. , which were produced from non living sources and minerals were called inorganic compounds and the chemistry dealing with them was called inorganic chemistry.
