Given that : Difference of two adjacent side of a rectangle is 4 cm.

Then, according to the question :

x - y = 4 => x = y+4 ....(1)

Here, x = Length and y = Breadth of the rectangle.

Now, according to the question :

2(x+y) = 48

=> 2[(y+4)+y] = 48

=> 2(2y+4) = 48

=> 2y+4 = 24

=> 2y = 20

=> y = 10

On putting the value of y in equation (1) :

x = 10+4

=> x = 14

Now, Area of rectangle = Length×Breadth

=> x × y

=> 14×10

=> 140 cm²

So, the area of Rectangle will be 140cm²
