difference of two numbers ,which are the perfect cubes, is 189 if the cube root of the smaller of the two numbers ,is 3 ,find the cube root of the larger number

x be the greater and y be the smaller number:

∛y = 3    (given)

cubing both sides, we get  :

y = 27

Now, you can find x by putting y in eq1

x = 216

Taking cube root on both sides,  we get:

∛x = 6
