Answer:

There are a lot of differences between democracy in the USA and India.

USA

1. Written Constitution: the USA has a written constitution that means it is very hard to make any constitutional amendments.

2. Two-party system: the USA has two parties republican party and democratic party.

3. True federation: The center and states have different laws and states are more powerful than the center.

4. DUAL citizenship. A person in the USA has dual citizenship in the USA and his particular state.

5. Presidential form of government: Head of the state and Head of the gov is president which is an executive elected by US citizens.

India on the other hand

1. Longest written constitution: India has a constitution that has a mixture of written (rigid) and unwritten(flexible) constitution.

2. Multiparty system: India has a multi-party system. There are national-level parties, state-level parties, and different organizations too.

3.Quasi federation: According to Wheare “India is a quasi federation with Unitary tilt" i.e. India although a country of many states but the Union holds more power and authority.

4. Single Citizenship: India has single citizenship throughout the country. India does not allow dual citizenship i.e. If a person willingly acquires citizenship of any other country he/she loses his Indian citizenship.

5. Parliamentary form of democracy: The Head of the government(Prime Minister) is elected indirectly by elected representatives of different constituencies and holds more power than the Head of the state(President).
