•Similarities:
a. The national movement in India was the result of colonialism, which brought a sense of belonging to the people and brought people of different sections of the society to fight against the colonial yoke. Vietnam is one of the important states in Indo – China which was developed purely of colonial context. The formation of the Vietnamese states brought different communities together which were altogether shaped into a struggle against colonial domination.
b. Exploitation of the country to meet the colonial needs , oppressive British policiesinstilled a sense of unification, likewise, The political, economic impact of the French colonists determined the Vietnam'sstruggle.
c. We saw active participation of Women inboth India and Vietnam against the colonial regimes.

a. India gained Independence in 1947 and declared it be a sovereign Republic Independent country, Vietnam gained independence in 1945, much before India, but it took another three decades of fighting before it could be formed as Republic of Vietnam.
b. Prominent leaders of Indian national movement were Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Tilak etc. Some of the leaders in Vietnam were Phan Boi Chau, Ho chi minh etc.
c. Mass movements like Non cooperation movement, Civil Disobedience movement, Khilafat movement, etc united people of allcommunities together in the struggle for freedom . It was through many movements, struggles of political leaders and political parties, interference of Japan,USA etc Republic of Vietnam was formed in 1974
