There is a very minor differences btw Hamlet and village. A Hamlet lacks a compact core settlement and also have very few Big buildings and If we talk about the village then village is the place which is not much develop but enough for living.

hamlet is a group of houses or small village in country epecially a village without any church . and a village is a collection of dwelling houses larger than a hamlet and smaller than a town .
