Self Help Groups have achieved a remarkable success in empowering rural masses, especially women, socially and economically.

SHGs are micro-finance based models of poverty eradication and self empowerment. They work on mutual help and benefits.

But we have encountered frequent making and breaking of group as there is no proper monitoring on the working is leading to many fake groups which are either not running or only one person is benefitting.

Coperatives are type of small banks, till 1996, were allowed to lend money only for non-agricultural purposes.

This distinction does not hold today. These banks were traditionally centred around communities, localities work place groups.

These banks generally cater to the banking needs of small traders, microenterprises, individuals, and others not adequately served by commercial banks.
