Forces which are parallel and acting a similar way are called like parallel forces. Forces which are parallel and acting inverse way are called, not at all like parallel forces.

Like Parallel forces are the forces that are parallel to each other and have the same direction.Unlike parallel forces are the forces that parallel yet have directions inverse to each other.

Like parallel forces are forces that are parallel and act in the same direction. If there are two forces F1 and F2, then the resultant force R  = F1 + F2.

Unlike parallel forces are forces that are parallel and act in opposite directions. If there are two forces F1 and F2, then the resultant force R  = -F1 + F2 where the negative force is the force acting in the downward direction.
