Answer:

  • Meristematic tissue is a type of tissue which is found in the actively dividing zone of the plant and it is responsible for causing growth of the plant. While dermal tissue is a single layer tissue which cover the part of the plant mainly and act as a cover for the plant body. It is similar to skin in animals.
  • Meristematic tissue is found at various part of the  plant such as apical meristem and lateral meristem, while dermal tissue is found everywhere in the plant and it act as a barrier between the plant and the environment.
  • Meristematic tissue is only responsible for the growth of the plant, while dermal tissue modifies itself to perform different function in the plant. Like to absorb the water and minerals in the stem, root and leaves dermal tissue is often covered with cutin to prevent evaporation of water.
