Traditional farming was organic in nature while modern farming is mechanical and depends on chemical fertilizers and pesticides. While it increases production manifold, the productive capacity of the soil decreases due to chemical effects.
Organic farming depends on natural decomposition and fertility of soil continues for a longer period. Apart from productivity mechanised agriculture is large scale in nature and is not suitable for small fatmers.
Organic farming is natural and eco-friendly. However it cannot increase production in a large scale as is the case with mechanised farming.
