OMR - Stands for Optical mark recognition. It in also an input device which detects the presence or absence of a mark on the paper. It usually helps in examining answer sheets, where answer sheets are marked in circles or boxes.
OCR - stands for optical character reader. It is also an input device, which not only detects a mark but also recognize shapes and identify characters directly from the source document. For example ; Examination forms of different educational institutions.
