differences between oxidation nd rancidity

Oxidation is the loss of electrons.It happens when an atom or compound lose one or more electrons.Some elements lose electrons more easily than others.They are said to be easily ozidized.

Rancidity is the process which causes a substance to become rancid,ie,having a rank,unpleasant smell or taste.

OXIDATION:

Addition of oxygen, removal of hydrogen and loss of electron. i.e one reactant gets oxidized while the other gets reduced during a reaction.

RANCIDITY:

The process which cause a substance to become rancid i.e. having a rank, unpleasant smell or taste.
