Individual amino acids are attached to each other to form peptides via a peptide bond. This results in a chain of residues (name of amino acids when they are a part of a chain). A phosphodiester bond is something you find in DNA/RNA that attach the nucleotides together via the 3' and 5' hydroxyl group of a sugar.
