The three main types of wind are the Permanent Winds, Periodic Winds and Local Winds. Permanent winds blow all through the year over a particular region in a specific direction. Trade Winds, Anti-trade winds and Polar winds are Permanent Winds. Monsoon Winds are Periodic Winds.
