PROKARYOTIC CELLS ARE THOSE CELLS WHICH HAVE NUCLEAR MATERIAL WITHOUT NUCLEAR MEMBARANE . THOSE ORGANISMS ARE CALLED PROKARYOTES . EG : BLUE AND GREEN ALGAE etc.

EUKARYOTIC CELLS ARE THE CELLS HAVING WELL DEVELOPED NUCLEUS WITH NUCLEAR MEMBRANE . THOSE ORGANISMS ARE CALLED EUKARYOTES. EG : HUMAN CELL etc.

Prokaryotic Cell :-

Cell size is generally small.

Nuclear region called nucleoid and not surrounded by a nuclear membrane.

Only a single chromosome is present.

Nucleolous is absent.

Membrane bound cell organelles are absent.

Cell division is by fission or budding.

Eukaryotic Cell :-

Cell is generally large.

Nuclear material is surrounded by a nuclear membrane.

More than one chromosome are present.

Nucleolous is present.

Cell organelles is bounded by membrane and are present.

Cell division is by meiotic.
