Differences between resources & wealth?

These resources are valuable because we can use them to make things people want.like energy to get around , materials to make things out of , etc.To call them wealth is a bit confusing if we 're focusing on the difference between wealth & resources. Oil is valuable because it helps us to create more of that wealth.
