The Differences Between Single and Double Seat Valve

The Introduction of Single-Seat and Double-Seat Valve
According to the valve structure, gas regulator can be divided into two types, that is, the single-seat valve and double-seat valve. There exist differences between the two types in adjustment mechanism aspect.

Introduction of single-seat valve
The disc-shaped valve of single-seat valve can be processed into hard valves or soft valves. The soft valve can be made from leather or nitrile rubber. Regulators designed for users widely utilize single-seat valve, because it can effectively prevent the outlet pressure from rising. However, due to the unbalanced force enforced on both sides of the valve, the influence of pressure variations that on the outlet pressure of the regulator is increased.

Introduction of double-seat valve
The forces on double-seat valve are essentially balanced. Therefore, compared with single-seat valve, the influence of the inlet pressure of regulator on the outlet pressure is relatively small. But due to the inconsistent in expansion between the core and disc of valve when temperature changes, the double-seat valve can't guarantee its shut-up tightness. This type valve is suitable for the gas pipeline which gas flow is not always equal to zero.
