Plants have two different types of transport tissue. Xylem transports water and solutes from the roots to the leaves, phloem transports food from the leaves to the rest of the plant. Transpiration is the process by which water evaporates from the leaves, which results in more water being drawn up from the roots.

xylem conducts water and minerals sites from the roots to the leaves.
xylem consists of trachieds vessels fibres and parenchyma.
only xylem parenchyma is living...

Phloem:
Phloemconduct food from the leaves to the growing parts of the plants.
Phloem consists of sieve shells sieve tubes companion cells fibres and parenchyma
only phloem fibres are nonliving.
