Municipal Corporation translate as Mahanagar Palika. They Govern metropolitian Cities with the population more than 1 million. Their function is to provide necessary health care, education insitution, housing, transport etc.
They Collect Property Tax and fixed grant from state government.
Mayor is the head of the corporation.
Municipal Council translate as Nagar palika. They administer a city with population around 1 lakh or more.
Generally Small district and large towns have municipality. It's functions are almost same as municipal Corporation.
They also get their income from tax and some grants from state government.
