•They are continuous and can be crossed through passed only.

•Their average height is between 900-1600 metres.

•The highest peak is anaimudi.

•The western edge of Deccan plateau is called western ghats.


>>Eastern Ghats :

•They stretch from the Mahanadi valley to the nilgiris in South.

•They are discontinued and irregular and the dissected by rivers.

•Their average height is 600 metre

•The highest peak is mahendragiri.
