Difference between rods and cones are -:

Rod cells

  1. Vision in poor light
  2. Visual activity is high
  3. Visual pigment is Iodopsin
  4. More concentrated in centre of retina

Cone cells

  1. Colour and detailed vision in bright light
  2. Visual activity is low
  3. Visual pigment is Rhodopsin
  4. Evenly distributed all over retina
