$\textbf{Less pay for the same work :}$ Most of the labour done by them is unpaid or they often receive lesser wages than men.

$\textbf{Wish to have a male child :}$ Our society is male dominant, so parents often wish to have a male child. Female foeticide is practiced in many parts of India even after it is illegal.
