Different between active citizen and passive citizen

Active Citizens: Only men above 25 years of age who paid taxes equal to at least 3 days of a labourer’s wage were given the status of active citizens, that is, they were entitled to vote. Passive citizen : The remaining men and all women were classed as passivecitizens.

Active citizens----> Men above 25 years and who could pay taxes equal to three days labourer's wage.They were allowed to vote. Passive Citizens------> Artisans,Women,Peasants,Men below 25 years of age and men above 25 years of age who could not pay taxes equal to 3 days labourer's wage.They were not allowed to vote.
