the difference in arrangement of molecules in solid and liquid are different . solids molecules are tightly and closely packed with each other . liquid molecules has more space than solid but less space than gas and are loosely packed with each other .

IN SOLIDS, like table, chairs, ice, etc. the molecules are tightly packed and have no or very less space between them.

IN LIQUIDS, like water, petroleum, etc. the molecules are having some space between them, which is less space than gas molecules but comparitively more space than solids have.

IN GASES, the molecules are very loosely packed that is they have very large spaces between them.

AMONG SOLIDS, LIQUIDS AND GASES, THE MOLECULES IN SOLID ARE MOST TIGHTLY PACKED WHEREAS IN GASES IT IS THE OPPOSITE.
