An electromagnet is made up of coiled wire, It acts as a magnet when electricity is passed through.

While Bar magnet not require wire or electricity.

Electromagnet is wrapped around a core of ferromagnetic material like steel.

Bar magnet not require these.

BAR MAGNET---->

1) It is permanent magnet.
2) Its polarity is fixed. That means it can't change its N-pole and S-pole. It is fixed.
3) Its magnetic property cannot be increased.

ELECTROMAGNET ------>

1) It is temporary magnet. It acts as magnet till the current flows.
2) Its polarity can be changed.That means if we reverse the direction of current then its N-pole can become S-pole and vice versa
3) Its magnetic property can be increased by increasing current or by increasing the number of coils.
