- A green coloured pigment present on the grana thylakoids of chloroplast.
- They trap solar energy to split water molecules called photolysis of water.
- Helps in completion of light reaction of photosynthesis.
- Only one or two processes occur in the pigment.
- Only present in chloroplast of plant cells.
- Because of chlorophyll pigment these are green in colour.
- Facilitate occurance of photolysis of water.
- Light reaction and Dark reaction both occurs inside the structure.
- Important plant cell component for synthesis of carbohydrates through several biochemical reaction.
- Only present in plant cells.
