Compound sentence are those with have conjunctins in it or are connected by conjunctions. e.g-Rita had finished her homework and she went to play.

Complex sentences are those that have clause in it.e.g-it was her voice that had the sparkle of a mountain stream.

Katniss can survive in the forest, and she is a capable archer.' ...
