Data vs. Information - Differences in Meaning. Dataare simply facts or figures — bits of information, but not information itself. When data are processed, interpreted, organized, structured or presented so as to make them meaningful or useful, they are calledinformation.

Hi,

When data is processed, organised and structured in a given context so as to make it useful,it is called information.

Each data entry in the cell of a table is called a data item. Each character of a data item is formed of a byte(group of 8 bits).

Hope this helps. . . .
