different between election and midterm election

Hi friend....

General Elections:

It is the normal election like Lok Sabha Election ,State elections etc. In this basically members are elected after five years means the election which held after five years.

Mid-term Election:

If the Government falls due to in the Lok Sabha or the state Assembly before five years means before the completion period and no alternative government is possible, mid-term elections are held.
